How To Get Your Creative Juice Flowing Again

We all are creative in our own little or big ways. The thing is that no matter how creative you are, there are occasions when you feel lost.

For instance, writers refer to such scenario as writers’ block. And such occurs, try as they may, no creativity will flow.

If you have ever felt this way and would like to do something about it, we have listed ways to get you right on track.

4 ways to get your creative juice flowing

Take a bath, dress up and change your environment

Creative people are usually entrepreneurs, freelancers, and managers in an organisation. There is this temptation to become too comfortable in a particular pattern. Using freelance writers, for instance, many of them work from home and may spend the day writing in their pyjamas.  This may also apply to an entrepreneur or a manager that can work from anywhere.

If you find yourself battling with ideas, it might be time to change your environment. For a freelance writer, you will notice some positive changes if you dress up and leave your house for a change. For the busy entrepreneur and manager, you can try another environment and see if you can get your thoughts right on track again.

Get rid of all distractions

Now, you may think that you have taken care of things that could distract you, but you will be amazed that there are still many distractions staring you right in the face.

Alright, what about that to-do-list that is pinned to the wall directly opposite your writing desk?

While such lists may seem like they aren’t harmful, the truth remains that they put some form of pressure on you by reminding you of the tasks unattended to. Don’t get rid of your to-do-list but place it somewhere else away from your creative space.

When you are ready to start working, don’t start by opening social networks or emails unless they are part of your work. When you shut out all these distractions, you will be able to connect with your inner self where creativity springs from.

Do something different

Whenever you hit a wall with your creativity, take a break and get involved with something totally different from what you are presently doing. You could take a walk, bake a cake, go to the park, read a book, or swim. The list is endless.

Get involved in anything that will take your mind off the present task that you are battling with.

Redecorate your space

Where you spend most of your work time deserves to be as comfortable as ever. Think of ways you can spice up your workspace. You could get live flowers, paintings, a new set of furniture, or anything that comes to mind.

It doesn’t have to be expensive, but little changes made in your workspace can get your creative juice flowing once again.
