EPISODE 1: THE SECRET IN THE COMPOUND (Part 1)

The night Amina Okoye found the letter, everything in her life began to fall apart.

It was hidden beneath her father’s old wooden bed—wrapped in cloth, tied like something sacred. Or cursed.

She wasn’t supposed to be in his room.

But ever since Chief Okoye fell ill, the house had grown quiet… suspiciously quiet. Visitors came at odd hours. Whispers stopped when she entered.

And her mother? Gone. No explanation. Just… gone.

Amina’s fingers trembled as she untied the cloth.

Inside was a letter. Old. Faded. But her name was written clearly on it.

“To Amina — the child who must never know the truth.”

Her heart pounded.

Never know what truth?

She unfolded it slowly.

“If you are reading this, then something has gone terribly wrong. You are not the daughter of Chief Okoye…”

A loud knock hit the door.

Amina froze.

“Amina!” her uncle’s voice called. Uncle Bayo. “Open this door. Now.”

Her breath caught.

She looked back at the letter… then at the door.

The knocking grew louder.

More aggressive.

Almost… desperate.

And then—

The handle started turning.
